Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. Born on 11th November, 1966. After making her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modeling after being invited by a professional photographer. It led to an enviable career as a commercial model. Doody was extremely determined not to do glamour or nude work. The rule was extended to her acting career. After being spotted by to the director of casting for the upcoming James Bond film she accepted an unimportant role as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one the twelve most promising young actors in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody She was just 18 when she played Doody in A prayer for the dying (1987) with Mickey Rourke, is the youngest Bond girl who has a name to her. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable role to date was as Austrian Nazi sympathiser and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played the role with Sean Connery, who played the character's father. Doody played the role in the British series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publication scam. Following her move to Hollywood, Doody became famous. The actress later became Flannery her agent as well as her girlfriend on the set of Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. Doody's return to the screen was in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in the role of a brief. Doody's roles included an appearance in a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. In 2011, she started the second season on the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. The film was awarded the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on the 21st of November, 2018.
